The next day in the cafeteria, I
discussed with Jason what happened. He played with his empty Coke can while we
talked and then seemed to have an idea.
“So, let me get this
straight—you’re grounded this weekend and the only way you’re getting out is if
work calls you in?” Jason said.
“Yep. Sucks.” I said.
“So, what if work calls you in.
What time would you work til?” Jason asked.
“Probably midnight. That would be
too late to go out even if I could.” I said.
“That’s not what I mean. What if I
call saying its work calling you in.”
“Yeah.” I said realizing what he
was saying.
“I’ll say its Blockbuster calling
for David. You answer and then tell your parents you’re working until midnight.
You walk to work where I’ll pick you up and then we can drive to Medusas. I’ll
get you back like you’ve been at work all night.” Jason said.
“Nice! And my boss already knows
that I asked for Saturday off, so perfect. You call and we go.” I said.
So, the plan was in place. I
'll wear my work vest out the door, then change in Jason’s car and head
over to Medusas. The only thing I wasn’t bringing with was my camera, because
that would make my parents suspicious. Now I just had to wait until Saturday.
