Darren and I walked about a block and half into the Army-Navy surplus store.
It was filled with military stuff like gas masks, canteens, and boots. It also
had tons of jackets. I passed a beret that I thought was cool, but I wasn't
looking for a hat. Darren pointed me over to the pea coats.
“What your size?” He asked.
"Size 38.” I answered.
“Check these out.” Darren said while handing me a gray peacoat.
“This looks cool.” I said while trying it on.
“Damn, you look hot in that!” Darren said.
“Darren!” I stammered.
“Just kidding. You do look really good that though.” He
said.
“Awesome. Thanks for your help.” I said.
“I work in a clothing store, I'm a fashion whore.” He said.
We walked over to the counter and I paid for the coat. I
decided to wear it since it had gotten a bit chilly that early October
afternoon. I took my hoodie and threw it in my bag. Darren and I had some more
laughs. I even snapped a couple pics of him being flamboyant outside the L station.
“You wanna come with me to Trax?” I asked.
“I can't, I got work in an hour.” Darren said.
“ Too bad. You're cool to hang with.” I said.
“For a homo?” He said sarcastically.
“No. As a person.” I said.
“Why thank you. Serious, thank you.” Darren said hugging me.
“I'll see you later. I'll probably be in Dark Wave soon.” I said.
“Hang on a second,” Darren said scribbling on a piece of
paper.
“Call me whenever you want to hang.” He said.
“Will do. See you later.” I said.
“Bye .” Darren said.
