Learning The Ropes

 I walked over to the used section and started to flip through their inventory. I noticed a Love And Rockets record that caught my eye.

“Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven.” I muttered to myself.

I put it aside as I flipped to some others and from the corner of my eye someone grabbed the record.

“Love and Rockets. Now you’re getting there kid.” Violet said while holding a price gun.

“Hi! By the way, That David Bowie tape you gave me was fucking awesome!” I said.

“Bowie is pretty awesome. If you’re checking out Love and Rockets then check these guys out…” Violet said walking over to the B section.

“If you want to learn more, then listen to Bauhaus too. Love And Rockets are the same guys who were in Bauhaus minus Peter Murphy. Good stuff.” Violet exclaimed.

“You know your shit.” I said.

“I work in a record store, David! ” Violet said spinning around.

“True.” I said.

“In a hurry?  Pay for those and join me on a smoke break.” She said.

“But I don’t smoke.” I said.

“Well then, keep the bums away from me.” She laughed.
