“Like seriously, you have nothing decent in your closet! Grrr! Wait
a minute, wear this striped shirt with these black dress pants.” Jenny said.
“I look like a moron!”I said.
“Trust me, sweetie, Sassy knows what's current. Button the top
button and cuff your pants. Oh, and wear these shoes.”
“ These are the black loafers I wore for my grandmothers
funeral.” I said.
“They're fine. That's the best we can do.” I have to make sure
you look right cos my crew will all be there.” Jenny said.
“What about my hair?” I said.
“Hang on, grab me some gel, I'm gonna punk out your hair. That
will look totally rad.” Jenny said.
So I was dressed. And I looked like a complete dork with a
crusty spike that screamed Ed Grimley. Now we were down to the next battle. I
had to convince my overprotective parents that Jenny and I were going to the
mall and then back to her house and not hopping the Belmont bus all the way
east to Clark Street.
